Although most services we provide will follow a routine
and be rendered in a timely fashion once you contact The Center, we understand
that there are emergency situations when you need help immediately.
Program Goal:
Understanding
that work is goal oriented, we are committed to a treatment philosophy that
prepares individuals to take constructive action to help themselves.
This preparation begins at the onset of services by assisting each
individual to identify problems and potential solutions. As a part of
that process, a therapeutic alliance is formed between the individual and
the services provider to actively work on specific problems.
The Goal of Crisis Intervention is to provide or
assist individuals in obtaining all the services necessary to stabilize a
crisis situation. The Crisis Intervention Service functions as part of
the Mental Health Center's comprehensive service delivery system and is
provided as a part of the Community Mental Health Board's Emergency/Crisis
Plan for the Columbiana County service district.
Crisis Intervention Services may be
administered on a face-to-face or telephone basis. These services are
provided to individuals experiencing extreme emotional distress, including
behavior that could pose a danger to themselves or others. Services include
emergency intervention, assessment and linkage to necessary inpatient or
outpatient services.
